International Children’s Peace Prize: 2020 Nominees
April 10, 2021Team Turbo does 10th CT Cycle Tour on 10 March: Partner with David to raise funds for hampers
March 7, 2024David, as a young boy with Down syndrome and autism, was given the opportunity to cycle as part of a buggy team 8 years ago. It was an opportunity that would open doors to new adventures we could never have envisaged. 8 years later, having completed 6 Cape Town Cycle Tours, 3 PPA 170km 1 Tonner events, and several ‘shorter’ (approx 100km) races, David is a true fan of the sport and adventure of cycling with pilot Brett Chilcott. David gets to experience freedom, the wind in his hair, new places, and connect with others out on the roads, and his ‘disabilities’ become his reason for being celebrated.
David (15yrs) doesn’t let his disabilities stop him from enjoying life. He also doesn’t let them stop him from reaching out to others to make a difference in their lives. On Sunday (18 April), David and Brett will be taking to the roads in their #NotCTCTRide as #ChampionsForChange as they set out on a 115km route to raise funds towards food parcels for children with disabilities who are less fortunate than David.
